N.A.S.C. HOCKEY PROGRAM FEATURES
Focused Instruction - "Making Hockey Fun...Through Teaching Confidence"

N.A.S.C. Hockey is proud to be the first and the pioneers of "learn hockey" educational programs at the grassroots level. Our programs are "second-to-none" and we take pride in having "set the standard" in what we feel "grassroots" educational hockey programs should consist of.

We are delighted that our "learn hockey" programs are so well received. They are "often imitated, never duplicated"
We are unique as there are no additional charges to our participants for our enhanced hockey instruction.

All program instruction is supplied by the league and is included with registration.

We also feature an easy fee payment structure as well...In addition to your registration fee, ice fees are determined by division and are equally structured. Each participant by division pays the exact same regardless of the number of players on that team.

OSHAWA N.A.S.C. HOCKEY - CONTINUING TO SET THE STANDARD IN "GRASSROOTS" HOCKEY

Dear Parents, Oshawa N.A.S.C. Hockey has long been the leader in setting the standard to which others gauge their successes in hockey development.

Our Novice 4/5, Super Six and Super Novice hockey schools in combination with our power skating and goaltender instruction programs prove this.

We develop, others follow.

Oshawa N.A.S.C. Hockey will once again take the pioneer approach and re-write the standards in making the decision to modify our successful hockey program to remove body checking at all levels starting the 2009-2010 hockey season.

However, “No body checking” DOES NOT MEAN “NO Body Contact”!

The decision to modify our program occurred after a culmination of several months of diligent, dedicated and determined committee work. The executive has met with other active organizations to gather information and determine the feasibility of N.A.S.C. Hockey offering such a program.

The result of these discussions was an overwhelming positive response and an urgency to development this program. This innovative approach enforces N.A.S.C. Hockey's focus on player participation and player development by enabling young people and families to enjoy the game of hockey by removing the intimidation of body checking and focusing on the game itself.

ABOUT N.A.S.C. HOCKEY
Since 1947
we have successfully organized recreational ice hockey for the children of Oshawa.

Oshawa N.A.S.C. Hockey is an operating committee under the governing body of N.A.S.C (Neighbourhood Association Sports Committee). N.A.S.C. is a sub-committee of the O.C.C.N.A. (Oshawa Central Council of Neighbourhood Associations)

Oshawa N.A.S.C Hockey has been incredibly successful and has ran so efficiently, it has often been mistaken for those programs offered by the City of Oshawa.

In fact, our learn hockey programs are so well received, they're "often imitated, never duplicated" . We pride ourselves in being the first and the leader in Oshawa in "grassroots" hockey development.

Oshawa N.A.S.C. Hockey is operated solely by the volunteers in our community, for the children of Oshawa.

N.A.S.C. is honoured to be partnered with Chuck in continuing and improving upon our achievements of this very successful introduction to hockey program. they're "often imitated, never duplicated" .

We pride ourselves in being the first and the leader in Oshawa in "grassroots" hockey development.

For a child who is just getting started, having fun and learning the basics is the key to building confidence. In order to satisfy both areas, N.A.S.C. Hockey is pleased to announce the return of Chuck Dill and “4 The Luv of Hockey” Instructors to its offering. All at NO additional cost to participants!

N.A.S.C.  "SUPER NOVICE" NOVICE AGED INSTRUCTIONAL HOCKEY PROGRAM

Those players who have graduated from our "SUPER SIX" Instructional Hockey Program are the focus of this new and exciting extended program offering.

All Novice players (7 and 8 year olds) will participate on their assigned teams and continue to thrive and learn in their weekly program ( 1 game / 1 practice per week) however, the players will be scheduled "every-other-week" to attend an additional structured "hockey skills program".

The focus of the N.A.S.C. hockey school is to continue the teachings of the successful "4 Luv of Hockey" 4&5 year-old hockey school and "SUPER SIX" Instructional Hockey Programs. The ice is broken into stations so that all players are active and are introduced to many different skating and puck control scenarios. Coaches and parent volunteers are encouraged to help and they also become students as well by learning the drills and techniques.

The drills in the hockey school are structured in a progressive fashion with the focus always being to teach the player to be confident on their feet. Skating, skating, skating...The rest as a result, will come naturally...

Based on the success of our two existing programs, we've already proven our approach is correct

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRPERSON

Let's try to put House League Hockey in Perspective

Back in Novice, there was about two minutes left to play in a playoff game and I was anxiously pacing behind the bench, barking out whatever instructions seemed important at that very moment. You watch the game and you watch the clock in those final seconds, at the very same time....
